“Down at your feet O Lord, is the most high place.” I have a student who I call my little shadow. She loves to be as close to me as possible at all times. Although it is flattering, she doesn't seem to have a sense of personal space. She is always looking for hugs, and when I read stories, she is right there at my feet. I have to be very careful not to accidentally kick her with my shoes because she is always THAT close. As much as I tell her to back up a bit, she always says, "I just want to be close to you." It is very sweet and sincere. Recently, I had been sick and asked her to keep her distance for her sake. Even then, she said, "I am sick too, so it is okay if we are close." There was certainly no deterring her, that's for sure. Her dedication to being as close to the teacher as possible is truly commendable. I want to be more like her, to be honest. I want to learn to sit at the feet of the Great Teacher each day, enjoying His company and just taking it all in as she does. In this world of ours, we are inundated with stress on every side. When we learn to sit in stillness at the feet of our Father, we gain perspective, respite, refreshment for our weary souls, and a love like we have never known. We recharge and get the perspective needed to navigate life’s twists and turns. How do we sit at our Father’s feet? We do so through prayer, reading His word, listening, and meditating. There is so much to learn. Let's come in close and learn from our Father at His feet, taking it all in. It is a beautiful spot to be, and there is always room for one more! Tuck that in your heart today! ❤️ Dear Jesus, Thank you that when this world becomes too much to bear or we just need a friend like no other, we can come and sit at your feet. It is a place of hope, compassion, and comfort. Thank you that you are never too busy to spend time with us and that you truly enjoy our company. We are so blessed to have you as our Heavenly Father and best friend. In Jesus's name, Amen Sending you a virtual hug, Dana
